"Isn't it great to see people just playing hockey once again!"
That was the phrase on everyone's lips, and it was a statement, not a question. The lead up to a new season can be tough on the volunteers trying to put the seasons plan together and pleasing everyone can be a difficult process, but it sure is rewarding when we finally get to that point of the first whistle. It is so pleasing to be able to say to you all..... Welcome to Season 2024! |
In this month's update we have
PLAYER FEES & CHILD DISCOUNTS
Hockey South West Appreciates the financial burden playing sport can add to the family budget and we are more than willing to confidentially discuss payment options with you as needed.
If you would like to take the option of paying your HOCKEY SOUTH WEST fees on a plan, you need to select the Senior - or Junior - Payment Plan Option when registering. NOTE: Hockey Australia and hockey Victoria have stated that they require their fees paid in full to ensure insurance is available for the player, so these fees must be paid up front.
Once you have registered and paid the HA/HV fee, you will receive and email from a member of the HSW executive with payment options. You can make payments on a Weekly, Fortnightly or Monthly basis, however we request that HSW fees are paid in full by the end of July 2024. If this is a concern, please discuss the matter with us so we can help as best we can. The last thing we want is for someone to miss out on playing if there is something we can do to help.
To claim the discount for additional children you need to enter the applicable discount code at the payment screen. The discount codes will reduce each child's fees by $20, $40, $60 respectively. If you have mor than 4 children playing, CHILD4 can be applied for each subsequent child.
CHILD2 - This will deduct $20 from the total fee for that Junior registration.
CHILD3 - Will deduct $40 from the $120 fee.
CHILD4 - Will deduct $60 from the full fee.

UMPIRING IN 2024
This year we are working to formalize the scheduling process for each game so everyone, players and umpires, know in advance who will be at each game.
The Umpires will be scheduled via Hockey Victoria and allocated in the weekly draw with an online schedule and umpire roster that umpires have access to. The plan is to ensure all of the games are rostered for the year, so we only have the odd game to find volunteers for.
Members can nominate at any point of the year to join the umpire roster by completing the following JotForm. https://form.jotform.com/240838768826978
Once you complete the form, you'll be contacted by Hockey Victoria to confirm you availability and lock in games.
PAYMENTS
Payments for umpires, for all grades, is dependent on the qualifications held by the umpire, as per the following schedule:

Nil | $ 5 |
Foundation Support | $ 10 |
Foundation Lead | $ 30 |
Development Lead | $ 50 |
Advanced Lead | $ 60 |
